The Reverend William Klock

Fr. Bill, is originally from San Francisco, but grew up in the Northwest.  He is a graduate of Washington State University (History) and earned a master’s degree at Regent College in Vancouver, where he studied Old Testament and Biblical languages.  Fr. Bill served churches in Vancouver, B.C.; Bellevue, Washington; and Portland, Oregon before coming to Living Word in 2008.  He and his wife, Veronica, have one daughter.  Fr. Bill’s passion is the preaching of the Holy Scriptures as well as teaching others how to preach well.  He has published his own sermons on Genesis, First Corinthians, Psalm 119, and Luke's Gospel as well as having reprinted several other books of historical sermons and a number of books on preaching and theological subjects.  He maintains a blog relating to preaching called “The Anglican Expositor

Our Bishops

The Most Rev. Ray R. Sutton

Bishop Sutton serves as the Presiding Bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church (REC) and the Ordinary of the Diocese of Mid America. He is also the Dean of the Province and Ecumenical Affairs of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), of which the Reformed Episcopal Church is a founding member and special jurisdiction. Bishop Sutton often lectures at ACNA and Reformed Episcopal Seminaries, and is a popular retreat speaker.

A native of Kentucky and a Dallas resident since he was 13, Bishop Sutton received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University and his Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. From 1976 to 1991, he served as a parish minister. Following this, he pursued doctoral studies in an associated research program at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford with Coventry University, from which he received his Ph.D.

He became the Dean and Professor of New Testament at the Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Philadelphia, and continues as an adjunct professor today. Later, Bishop Sutton functioned as Dean and Professor of Theology at Cranmer Theological House, where he continues to teach. He has also authored four books on theology, his most recent being Signed, Sealed and Delivered: A Study of Holy Baptism.

Bishop Sutton is married to Susan Jean Schaerdel of Dallas, a fellow graduate of Southern Methodist University. The Suttons have seven children and four grandchildren. The Suttons live in Dallas where Bishop Sutton’s residential offices are at the Pro Cathedral of the Church of the Holy Communion.

The Right Reverend Charles Dorrington

Bishop Dorrington is our assisting bishop.  He has a strong music background, having been both a singer in and director of several choirs, including that of Church of Our Lord, Victoria, and was the founding president of the Pacific Opera.  He was ordained for ministry in the REC in 1978 and the following year became rector of Church of Our Lord.  Bishop Dorrington served as rector for another 14 years, before stepping down from that position in 1993 to establish Victoria Prayer Counselling.  In 1996 he was consecrated and made bishop of the diocese and has served in that capacity since, while also maintaining a full-time counselling ministry with the help of his wife, Claudia.  Most recently Bp. Dorrington has taken on the task of providing episcopal oversight for the newly established and rapidly growing Reformed Episcopal missions and parishes in Cuba.
